Bibliographic Commutation
Bibliographic switching services are carried out through the search and retrieval of technical articles, theses and dissertations, national and international, via the Internet, through the website of the Technical Document Copy Supply Service of the National Switching Program – COMUT. This service is coordinated by the Coordination Foundation for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel - CAPES and the Secretariat of Higher Education - SESU, from the Ministry of Education and with the Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and Technology - IBICT and the Financier of Studies and Projects - FINEP, from the Ministry of Science and Technology.
The purpose of the Library, when using COMUT's services, is to facilitate access to the document required in research, teaching and extension tasks, regardless of its location, by entering into service provision agreements with the National Commutation Program, which allows the access to Base-Libraries (depositories) and full-text providers (publishers, booksellers, full-text databases, etc.), under the coordination of a decentralized bibliographic switching system. In this way, it also contributes to the improvement of teaching and research, creating conditions for the transfer and cooperative use of interdisciplinary information, stored in the depositary institutions of bibliographic collections.
